Location: Saville Row, Piccadilly, London. Size: 4,000sq.ft
Posted on the corner of Sackville & Vigo streets, this combined menswear and womenswear store exudes was designed specifically to echo the traditional qualities associated with pure excellence in fashion.

Following a virtual re-invention of the area, coupled with the resurgence in popularity of all things touched by gentrification it was perfect timing to develop a store concept based on such traditional grounding.

Defying the rules of conventional retailing, the design of Vigo street involved actually obliterating the entire first floor in order to create a dramatic, double height ceiling, losing considerable amounts of valuable retail space in favour of sheer aesthetic drama. Far from a show of abject irreverence or brutal disregard for heritage of the building however the re-configuration of the space actually pays homage to the original attributes of the site – each item removed serving to accentuate the original grandeur of the space and its generally stately presence.

Filling this void, and central to the Vigo street experience is an installation-style chandelier comprised of thousands of illuminated glass spheres of varying sizes, suspended like a vast stellar explosion and bursting outwards as densely packed grouping of balls give way to random clusters. The overall effect is a of a thrusting outward from inside the glowing nucleus to fill the void left by the missing floor, and a store interior with more in common with an Art gallery than a conventional retail space.
